Plateaux Churchwarden - Comfort and Churchwardens have always gone hand in
hand.
In German this style is referred to as "Lesepfeife" or "
reading pipe" presumably because the longer stem allowed an unimpeded view of
one's book.
Churchwardens produce a cooler smoke due to the distance
the smoke must travel from the bowl to the mouthpiece.
Old Craftsmanship style, with thick solid walls and a
plateaux crown.
Smooth Burnt Autumn finish with a dark
highlights to show off the bold and mostly straight grain.
J.M. has hand-cut and shaped this
hard rubber (vulcanite) stem.
Using a high power magnifier there
are a few specks of natural imperfections.
Your pipe will come nestled in a protective Boswell
pouch.
Always a full draw which will allow for fuller, richer smoke.
